History

Launched in 2006, the Peugeot 207 replaced the 206 with a notably larger bodyshell to meet new European crash-safety standards. It carried over the 206's proven platform in updated form and was offered as a hatchback, a retractable-hardtop coupe cabriolet (207 CC), and a small estate (207 SW).

Although commercially successful, the 207 was seen as a stopgap before the all-new 208 arrived in 2012; European production ended in 2012, though some markets continued into 2014.
