Omoda Omoda C7 History
History
The Omoda C7 was introduced on 28 April 2024 in Wuhu, Anhui, sitting a rung above the C5 in the lineup at 4,621 mm long on a 2,700 mm wheelbase. It is offered with a 1.6-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch, or in a plug-in hybrid (SHS) guise pairing a 1.5-litre turbo with an electric motor for approximately 95 km of electric range and a combined range exceeding 1,200 km.
Omoda positions the C7 as its 'performance crossover', with sharper exterior detailing compared to the C5. The model went on sale in Russia in June 2025 and has since expanded to South Africa and other Omoda markets. It targets the compact-premium segment occupied by models like the Volkswagen Tiguan.
