Ola Electric Roadster X History
History
Unveiled on India's Independence Day (15 August 2024) alongside the flagship Roadster and Roadster Pro, the Roadster X is the entry variant of Ola Electric's maiden motorcycle family. Deliveries of the Roadster X and the Roadster X+ commenced in May 2025 — delayed from an initial April 2025 commitment. The Roadster X is offered with 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh battery packs, while the X+ adds a 9.1 kWh option that Ola claims delivers a 501 km range — an headline-grabbing figure for an entry-priced electric motorcycle.
Pricing at launch started at ₹99,999 for the 2.5 kWh Roadster X and climbed to ₹1,99,999 for the 9.1 kWh Roadster X+. The motorcycle sits on a purpose-built platform separate from the S1 scooter family and signals Ola Electric's intent to compete in the significantly larger Indian motorcycle segment. The Roadster Pro — a higher-performance variant announced alongside the X — was targeted for delivery during India's Diwali season 2025.
