Introduced for 2000 on the Frontier pickup's body-on-frame platform, the Xterra was a deliberately rugged, affordable, off-road-capable SUV.
Its no-nonsense, adventure-themed character (first-aid kit, roof basket, gear-friendly interior) built a devoted following before it was discontinued after 2015.
