History

Beginning as the Datsun 810/Maxima for 1981, the Maxima became Nissan's upscale, V6-powered flagship sedan, famously marketed as the '4-Door Sports Car'.

It anchored the top of Nissan's car range for decades before North American production ended in 2023 amid the industry shift away from sedans.
