Nissan Leaf History

Launched for 2011, the Leaf was among the first affordable, purpose-built mass-market electric cars and became the world's best-selling EV for much of the decade.

A second generation (2018) added range and power; the Leaf established Nissan as an early EV pioneer ahead of the later Ariya.
