NIO ES7 History

The ES7 launched in China on June 15, 2022 (deliveries from August 28, 2022) as a mid-size five-seat SUV on NIO's NT 2.0 intelligent platform, slotting between the ES6 and the flagship ES8 in NIO's SUV lineup. It featured LiDAR-based autonomous driving hardware and battery swap compatibility with 75 kWh, 100 kWh, and 150 kWh pack options.

In Europe, the ES7 was sold as the EL7, following the same Audi-prompted renaming that applied to the ES6 / EL6.
