Morgan Plus 4 Plus History

The Plus 4 Plus was Morgan's bold attempt at a modern, aerodynamic closed car: a fixed-head coupé with a fibreglass body on the Plus 4 chassis, launched in 1964. Its rounded, contemporary shape was a sharp departure from Morgan's traditional flowing-wing look.

Conservative Morgan buyers rejected the styling, and the car was a commercial failure — only 26 were built before it was dropped in 1967. Its flop reinforced Morgan's decision to stay with its classic look, and the firm's fortunes were soon revived instead by the traditional-bodied Plus 8.
