Mitsuoka Galue History
History
Introduced in 1996, the Galue applies round headlights, a chrome square grille, and formal coachbuilt body panels to mainstream Nissan large-car platforms, producing a neo-classic luxury look in the spirit of Bentley and Rolls-Royce of the 1950s and 1960s. The first Galue (Galue I, 1996–2001) was based on the Nissan Crew and its RB20E 2-litre engine.
Successive generations tracked Nissan's flagship sedan lineup: Galue II (1999–2005) used the Nissan Cedric/Gloria Y34 hardtop with 2.5 and 3-litre VQ V6s; Galue III (2005 onwards, formally from 2008) moved to the Nissan Fuga Y50. A fourth generation on the Nissan Teana J32 arrived in 2010, and the current fifth generation (2015–present) uses the Teana L33 — also offered in left-hand drive based on the Altima 3.5 SL for certain export markets.
