Microcar Dué History
Microcar's final and most modern quadricycle — a three-door hatchback produced from 2013 until the brand's closure in early 2025.

History
The Dué (Italian for 'two', reflecting the vehicle's two-seater focus) launched in 2013 as a sleeker alternative to the M.Go within the Ligier-Microcar portfolio. Like all Microcar products it was classified as a heavy quadricycle under European regulations, meaning it could be driven from age 14 (with an AM licence) in France without a full driving licence — the core value proposition of the entire brand.
Three successive generations refreshed the Dué in 2016 and again in 2019, updating styling, safety equipment, and powertrain options in line with evolving EU quadricycle regulations. The 2019-onward version continued until 2024, making the Dué the last model in active Microcar production.
When parent group Ligier announced discontinuation plans in 2024 and closed the Montaigu factory in early 2025, the Dué ended production with it — marking the end of the Microcar brand after roughly 45 years of building licence-exempt urban vehicles in France.
