The 1975 model year

Overview

For 1975, the U.S. W116 range added the carbureted 280 S alongside the 450 SE and 450 SEL. Mercedes-Benz introduced the 450 SEL 6.9 globally in May 1975 with a 6.9-liter V8 and hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension, but the U.S. roster source does not place that flagship on this 1975 U.S. model-year page.
