Maybach Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 History

Unveiled at the 2019 Guangzhou International Motor Show, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 extended the sub-brand into the SUV segment for the first time. Production began at Mercedes-Benz US International's plant in Vance, Alabama, in September 2020, making it the first Maybach-branded vehicle built outside Germany.

The GLS 600 uses a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 with EQ Boost mild-hybrid assistance producing 558 hp, paired with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The interior is configured for four passengers, with the rear bench replaced by two executive seats separated by a fixed centre console, each with individual climate, massage, and entertainment controls.
