Laraki Sahara History

Unveiled in Casablanca in 2019, the Sahara is Laraki's most recent and most refined model. Its exterior palette was directly inspired by Morocco's Sahara Desert: the production cars were finished in a vivid sandy gold tone — reportedly King Mohammed VI's signature color — giving the car an instantly recognisable Moroccan identity.

Mechanically the Sahara continues the Epitome's GM V8 lineage: a 7.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 tuned in collaboration with Italian engineering firm Dallara, producing 1,550 hp and a theoretical top speed of 248 mph. The body is constructed from carbon fiber. Only two examples were produced.

In February 2025, King Mohammed VI of Morocco purchased both existing Sahara units for approximately $2.2 million each ($4.4 million combined), bringing the entire production run under royal ownership and cementing the model's status as a symbol of Moroccan industrial ambition. The purchase followed Abdeslam Laraki receiving the Order of Muhammad — Morocco's highest state decoration — from the King.
