Laraki Epitome History

The Epitome was revealed at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, signalling Laraki's return to the public stage after nearly a decade of near-silence. For this third model the company moved away from the Mercedes V12 donor and adopted a Corvette C6 chassis and General Motors' 7.0-litre LS7-derived V8, which Laraki fitted with twin turbochargers.

The dual-fuel powertrain was the Epitome's headline attraction: running on standard 91-octane pump gasoline it produced 1,200 hp, but a second, auxiliary fuel tank allowed the car to blend in 110-octane racing fuel, unlocking a claimed 1,750 hp — figures that ranked it among the most powerful road cars announced at the time. A carbon-fiber body kept the curb weight to approximately 2,800 lb (1,270 kg).

Laraki announced a production run of nine units at a starting price of $2 million each. The total number of cars actually completed has never been officially disclosed (sources vary; at least one is documented — rapper French Montana is reported to have bought an example), and the Epitome is generally regarded as a concept/limited show car rather than a fully delivered production model.
