Lada Vesta History

The Lada Vesta is the most technically advanced car AvtoVAZ has produced under its own design: built on a new B/C platform co-developed with the Renault-Nissan Alliance, it went into mass production on 25 September 2015 at Lada's Izhevsk plant and reached customers from 25 November 2015. Presented at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, the Vesta attracted attention for its clean, contemporary European styling — a significant step away from Lada's dated image.

The Vesta family expanded to include an estate (Vesta SW) and a rugged 'Cross' estate with raised suspension and body cladding, competing in the compact crossover space. Reviewers and Russian consumers credited the Vesta with genuine improvements in build quality, interior materials, and ride compared to previous Ladas, and it became the brand's flagship model. Production continued into the 2020s, though Western sanctions following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine forced production adaptations.
