History
The Lada Priora (VAZ-2170) debuted at the March 2007 Moscow International Automobile Show and entered production the same month at the Togliatti plant. It was a substantially restyled and modernised development of the long-running Lada 110 (VAZ-2110) compact, with a more contemporary interior and improved equipment levels while retaining front-wheel drive and a familiar mechanical package.
Three body styles were produced — sedan (VAZ-2170), hatchback (VAZ-2172), and estate (VAZ-2171) — and the Priora served as Lada's everyday family car through the early 2010s. By May 2012 some 590,000 units had been built. Production ended on 17 July 2018 when AvtoVAZ retired the model alongside the Kalina, concentrating resources on the newer Granta and Vesta lines.
