History

The Sedona arrived in the US for the 2002 model year as the first South Korean minivan sold in North America, offering a V6, sliding rear doors, and competitive pricing against the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna.

Three generations of Sedona served US buyers (2002–2005 first gen, 2006–2014 second gen, 2015–2021 third gen) before Kia revived the original Carnival nameplate — used globally since 1998 — for the 2022 model year, giving the van a more SUV-inspired look and a fresh identity.
