History
The XK8 arrived in 1996 to replace the XJS, debuting Jaguar's new AJ-V8 engine — the marque's first V8 in decades — in a sleek coupe and convertible. A supercharged XKR followed in 1998, restoring genuine performance credentials.
A second-generation XK (codename X150) launched in 2006 for 2007 with an aluminium monocoque, again offered as XK and supercharged XKR (plus a hot XKR-S). Its platform underpinned the F-Type, alongside which it was built before XK production ended in 2014.
