Jaguar Mark X History

Launched in 1961 alongside the E-Type, the Mark X was Jaguar's top-of-the-range saloon — a very wide, low car with unitary construction, all-independent suspension, and the triple-carburettor 3.8-litre (later 4.2-litre) XK six.

In 1966 it was renamed the 420G to distinguish it from the smaller new 420 saloon, and it continued in that form until 1970. Its long-wheelbase platform later underpinned the original Daimler limousine.
