Unveiled in 1967, the Fidia was Iso's attempt to claim the top of the luxury four-door market alongside Rolls-Royce and Maserati Quattroporte. The body — a graceful four-door saloon — was again styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro, now at Ghia, giving the car a distinctive wedge-influenced profile that was modern without being aggressive. The Fidia was marketed as the fastest four-door car in the world at the time of its debut, backed up by a 300 hp Chevrolet V8 that made genuine on the claim.
Production ran from 1967 to 1974, shifting to Ford Cleveland power for the final IR-10 series in 1972 when Iso's Chevrolet supply arrangement changed. Approximately 192 Fidias were built in total — an extraordinarily small number for a four-door car — making them among the rarest Italian vehicles of the era. Among its notable owners was John Lennon. Like all late Iso products, the Fidia was cut short by the company's 1974 bankruptcy.
