History

The J30 (1993–1997) was Infiniti's mid-size rear-wheel-drive sedan, based on the Japanese-market Nissan Leopard. It occupied the slot between the entry-level G20 and the flagship Q45, with a 3.0-liter twin-cam V6 and a distinctly Japanese luxury character.

It sold in modest numbers and was replaced by the front-drive I30 for 1996 — a pragmatic shift toward the more popular front-wheel-drive format at the time.
