Hindustan Motors Landmaster History

The Hindustan Landmaster was a licence-built version of the 1954 Morris Oxford Series II, assembled at Uttarpara and sold primarily in estate (station wagon) form. It replaced the Hindustan 10 as the company's main passenger product.

The Landmaster's production run was brief — only three years — as Hindustan Motors moved quickly to the follow-on Ambassador when Morris released the Oxford Series III body in 1956. The Landmaster is little-documented today and surviving examples are exceedingly rare.
