Ferrari Purosangue History

Revealed on 13 September 2022, the Ferrari Purosangue ('Thoroughbred') is Ferrari's first four-door, four-seat production car and the brand's first true SUV. It is powered by a front-mid-mounted naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 producing 715 hp — a deliberate philosophical statement that Ferrari would not compromise engine character for the format.

The Purosangue uses rear-hinged rear doors (coach doors), an active suspension system with 48-volt anti-roll bars, and rear-axle-mounted dual-clutch transmission for near-ideal weight distribution. Ferrari announced a self-imposed production cap of no more than 20% of total annual output to preserve the car's exclusivity and the brand's identity.

The Purosangue enters production in 2023 as Ferrari's most versatile road car, extending the marque's reach to buyers who require four doors without sacrificing Ferrari's core V12 experience.
