History
Revealed at the 2004 Paris Motor Show, the Ferrari F430 replaced the 360 Modena with a new 4.3-litre V8 developing 483 hp — 90 hp more than the standard 360 — along with significant aerodynamic advances borrowed from Ferrari's Formula 1 programme, including a diffuser and brake-by-wire E-Diff limited-slip differential.
The F430 Spider followed in 2005, and the range was completed in 2007 by the 430 Scuderia — a Michael Schumacher-collaborative track special weighing around 100 kg less than the standard car and producing 510 hp. The open-top Scuderia Spider 16M, celebrating Ferrari's 16th F1 Constructors' title, capped the range with approximately 499 examples built.
Production of the F430 family ran from 2004 to 2009. The E-Diff and manettino steering-wheel driving-mode dial that debuted on the F430 became defining Ferrari features carried through to the present day.
