Ferrari F12berlinetta History

Unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Ferrari F12berlinetta replaced the 599 GTB with a 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 740 hp — the most powerful naturally aspirated engine Ferrari had ever put into a road car. The front-mid mounting position and active aerodynamics produced handling that critics called the best of any front-engine Ferrari to date.

The F12tdf (Tour de France) arrived in 2015 as an extreme 769-hp track-focused variant with rear-wheel steering, virtual short wheelbase, and extensive carbon-fibre weight savings; 799 examples were built.

The F12berlinetta was produced from 2012 to 2017 and succeeded by the 812 Superfast. It is remembered as the last word in pure naturally aspirated V12 front-engine grand touring before output figures were supplemented by hybridisation.
