History
Revealed at the 2002 Paris Motor Show and named after the company's founder, the Ferrari Enzo used a 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 660 hp, an F1-style sequential paddle-shift gearbox, carbon-ceramic brakes (a production-car first at Ferrari), and an active aerodynamics system managing downforce at speed.
Ferrari planned 349 examples, then added a 400th — later donated to Pope John Paul II and subsequently auctioned for charity. A 401st was built for the factory as a reference car. The Enzo's Formula 1-influenced styling by Ken Okuyama at Pininfarina divided opinion but its performance — 0–100 km/h in 3.65 seconds and 350 km/h top speed — was unambiguous.
The Enzo directly fathered the FXX track-only programme and its platform formed the basis of the Maserati MC12 GT race car.
