Ferrari 360 Modena History

The Ferrari 360 Modena, unveiled at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show, replaced the F355 with an all-aluminium spaceframe chassis — a first for a production Ferrari V8 car — that cut weight while dramatically increasing torsional rigidity. The 3.6-litre V8 produced 395 hp and drove through a six-speed gated manual or F1-style paddle-shift gearbox.

A Spider convertible joined the Modena coupé in 2000, and the 360 Challenge race series ran throughout the model's life. The range was topped by the 2003 Challenge Stradale, a road-legal track special producing 425 hp with lightweight carbonfibre components and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes.

Production ran from 1999 to 2005 with approximately 8,800 Modena coupés and 7,500 Spiders built; the 360's clean, airy Pininfarina design and accessible V8 sound made it one of the most popular Ferraris of the early 2000s.
