History
Premiered at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on 8 January 2020 and reaching customers in August of that year, the H9 is Hongqi's contemporary full-size luxury sedan, explicitly targeted at buyers who might otherwise choose a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series. Its interior design draws heavy influence from Rolls-Royce and Cadillac styling language.
An extended-wheelbase H9+ variant was introduced in 2021. The H9 marks a genuine shift for Hongqi from purely state procurement toward competitive consumer luxury sales, and it has been exported in small numbers to European and Middle Eastern markets.
