Faraday Future FFZERO1 History

The FFZERO1 was Faraday Future's first public vehicle, revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2016 — barely eighteen months after the secretive startup was founded. A low, single-seat track concept, it was designed to broadcast the company's ambitions rather than to be built: Faraday Future quoted four electric motors making around 1,000 horsepower, a sub-3-second 0–60 mph time, and a top speed above 200 mph.

The car was a styling and engineering showcase for the company's 'Variable Platform Architecture' — a modular, scalable battery-and-motor skateboard the firm said would underpin a family of future models. Features such as a driver-focused cockpit, a smartphone docking 'spine,' and oxygen/water delivery to the helmet were presented more as a vision statement than a product. The FFZERO1 never progressed beyond the concept stage, but it remains the company's most widely recognized vehicle and set the template for the production FF 91 that followed.
