Bignan 14CV History

Displayed alongside the continuing 11CV at the Paris Motor Show in October 1928, the 14CV represented Bignan's late-era attempt at a more prestigious market. It used a 2.5-litre overhead-valve straight-eight engine sourced from S.C.A.P. (Société de Construction d'Automobiles de Paris), a common French supplier of proprietary engines.

Both the 11CV and the 14CV continued in production through 1931, when the company finally ceased operations. The 14CV's reliance on a bought-in engine reflected the financial pressures facing the marque following the departure of founder Jacques Bignan in the mid-1920s.
