Aston Martin Vanquish History

The V12 Vanquish, launched in 2001, was Aston Martin's flagship grand tourer — a 5.9-litre V12 mated to a paddle-shift automated manual, with a bonded aluminium and carbon-fibre structure that pointed toward the company's future. It became James Bond's car (complete with 'adaptive camouflage') in Die Another Day (2002).

A more powerful Vanquish S followed in 2004, before the original Vanquish ended in 2007. Aston Martin later revived the name for a second-generation Vanquish (2012–2018), a VH-platform DB9 relative that again served as the V12 flagship — but the 2001 original remains the definitive car of the nameplate.
