Aston Martin Lagonda History

Reviving the Lagonda marque Aston Martin had absorbed in 1947, the 1976 Aston Martin Lagonda (the 'Series 2') was a startling, knife-edged wedge saloon styled by William Towns and powered by the 5.3-litre V8. It was one of the first production cars with an all-digital LED/cathode-ray instrument display.

The advanced electronics proved famously unreliable and hugely expensive to develop, but the Lagonda's audacious styling made it a status symbol in the Middle East and beyond. Around 645 were built before production ended in 1989.
