History
Launched in 1994 under Ford ownership, the DB7 brought back the 'DB' name after a long absence and was styled by Ian Callum into one of the most admired shapes of the 1990s. Built at Bloxham on a platform with Jaguar XJS roots, it was supercharged-six powered at first and dramatically more affordable to build than the old Newport Pagnell cars.
In 1999 the DB7 Vantage added a 5.9-litre V12, transforming its performance. With more than 7,000 built by the time production ended in 2004, the DB7 was the best-selling Aston Martin in the company's history to that point and is widely credited with securing its survival.
