Alpine A290 History

Revealed in production form at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, the A290 is Alpine's first electric production car and its new entry-level model, built at the Manufacture in Douai, France. It rides on the AmpR Small platform (a performance-optimised derivative of Renault's CMF-B EV architecture) and is offered with a 52 kWh battery delivering up to 236 miles of WLTP range.

Output ranges from 180 hp in base and GT Premium grades to 220 hp in GT Performance and GTS trims, all via a front-mounted single electric motor. Alpine tuned the chassis with stiffer springs, recalibrated steering, and wider tracks compared with its Renault sibling, in keeping with its sporting brief. First customer deliveries began in early 2025.
