Alpine A108 History

The A108 arrived in 1958 using the Renault Dauphine as its mechanical donor, succeeding the 4CV-based A106. Rédélé adopted a Michelotti cabriolet design and added a closed berlinette body — a small enclosed coupé that prefigured the famous A110 Berlinette shape.

Production ran from 1958 through approximately 1965, overlapping with the early A110 years. The A108 built Alpine's growing reputation for light, agile sports cars and helped establish the Dieppe factory's capabilities before the landmark A110.
