Aixam Scouty History

The Scouty launched in 2005 as Aixam's most unconventional model: a quadricycle with a removable hardtop roof panel, raised suspension, and robust plastic body cladding designed to suggest light off-road capability. A Scouty R performance-trim variant followed in 2006. Despite its adventure aesthetic, the Scouty shared the standard Aixam Kubota diesel drivetrain and remained governed to 45 km/h.

The Scouty occupied a narrow but enthusiastic niche — drivers who wanted the licence-free convenience of a quadricycle combined with the open-air experience of a mini-roadster. It was produced through approximately 2013, when Aixam consolidated its range around the City and Crossline (sources vary — some list the Scouty leaving the catalogue as early as 2010). A decade later, the nameplate was revived under the Mega sub-brand: the Mega e-Scouty, an all-electric open quadricycle, launched in 2023.
