History

The Land Cruiser traces its roots to a 1951 military prototype and is Toyota's longest-running model line, renowned for reliability in the harshest environments.

The classic FJ40 (US sales through 1983) became an off-road icon; later wagon-bodied 60-, 80-, 100-, and 200-series Cruisers grew increasingly luxurious.

Toyota withdrew the full-size Land Cruiser from the US after 2021, then revived the nameplate in the US for 2024 on a smaller, Prado-based platform.
