History

Built in Kentucky and launched for 1995, the Avalon was Toyota's largest, most comfortable US sedan, slotting above the Camry.

A hybrid arrived in 2013 and a sportier Avalon TRD in 2020 before the US line ended in 2022 as large sedans faded.

First generation · XX10 (1995–1999)

The original Kentucky-built full-size Toyota sedan.
Second generation · XX20 (2000–2004)

Larger second-generation Avalon.
Third generation · XX30 (2005–2012)

More modern, upscale Avalon.
Fourth generation · XX40 (2013–2018)

Sleeker styling; introduced the Avalon Hybrid.
Fifth generation · XX50 (2019–2022)

Final Avalon, with the sporty Avalon TRD; US line ended in 2022.
