Suzuki Carry History

The Carry launched in 1961 as a kei-class commercial vehicle — a tiny, practical truck and van aimed squarely at small businesses and farmers in Japan. It has evolved through multiple generations over six decades while maintaining the same basic formula: maximum cargo space in minimum dimensions.

The Carry is a staple of Japanese rural and commercial life and is also used globally as a base for small farm vehicles and utility conversions. It has never been officially sold as a new vehicle in the United States, though grey-market imports of older Japanese-spec Carries are popular in the farming and homesteading community.
