Subaru Tribeca History
History
Introduced for the 2006 model year (as the B9 Tribeca), Subaru's first three-row SUV drew immediate attention for its distinctive 'wing-tip' grille and flowing body, which was later toned down for the 2008 revision when the B9 prefix was dropped.
Despite the update, the Tribeca suffered from a genuinely cramped third row unsuitable for adults, mediocre fuel economy from its 3.6-liter flat-six, and below-target US sales. Subaru discontinued it after the 2014 model year, replacing it eventually with the purpose-designed Ascent for 2019.
