Subaru Solterra History
History
The Solterra (named from the Latin words for 'sun' and 'earth') arrived for the 2023 model year as Subaru's first battery-electric vehicle, co-developed with Toyota on the e-TNGA platform — it is the Subaru counterpart to Toyota's bZ4X.
Unlike its Toyota sibling, the Solterra is available only with all-wheel drive in the US, staying true to Subaru's AWD heritage. Capacity-constrained deliveries began in the US in mid-2022.
