History

Launched in 2009, the Ghost was conceived as a smaller, more measured Rolls-Royce below the Phantom — aimed at owners who might also drive themselves. The first generation shared some engineering with the BMW 7 Series (Rolls-Royce noting about 20% common parts) and used a twin-turbo 6.6-litre V12.

It quickly became the brand's best-selling model. The second generation, launched in 2020, moved to the in-house "Architecture of Luxury" aluminium platform shared with the Phantom and Cullinan, distancing it from BMW underpinnings, and added an extended-wheelbase version.
