History

First deliveries of the Renault Zoé began in France in December 2012, making it one of the earliest mainstream battery-electric vehicles available in Europe at a near-mass-market price. By January 2013 it had already become the top-selling fully electric car in France, a position it held for much of the decade.

The Zoé underpinned Renault's EV strategy through the 2010s, accumulating cumulative sales in the hundreds of thousands across Europe. A significant mid-life update in 2019 expanded the battery to 52 kWh and raised real-world range to over 300 km (186 miles). Production of the original Zoé ended in 2024, with its role effectively handed to the Renault 5 E-Tech.
