History

Introduced in October 1997 on a platform related to the Clio, the Renault Kangoo established itself as one of Europe's most popular compact vans and small MPVs, offering high load capacity in a car-friendly package. It reached its millionth unit at the Maubeuge plant in 2002.

A second generation arrived in 2007 and the Kangoo E-Tech electric (formerly Kangoo Z.E.) brought an electric version as early as 2011, making the Kangoo one of the first light commercial vehicles globally to be offered as a fully electric van. A third generation launched in 2021 continues in production.
