Pininfarina Battista History

Named after company founder Battista 'Pinin' Farina, the Battista was unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show as the debut product of Automobili Pininfarina — a new car-making subsidiary established by India's Mahindra Group in 2018. It was the first automobile ever sold under the Pininfarina name itself, breaking the design house's 89-year tradition of styling cars for others.

The powertrain — shared with the Rimac C_Two — pairs a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery with four permanent-magnet synchronous motors (one per wheel), producing a combined 1,417 kW (approximately 1,900 hp) and 2,300 Nm of torque. Pininfarina claims 0–100 km/h in 1.89 seconds and a top speed of 358 km/h (222 mph), making it the most powerful road-legal Italian car ever produced. Range is rated at approximately 500 km (310 miles).

Production was capped at 150 units and began in 2022 at the Cambiano, Italy facility, with deliveries running through 2025. Pricing was set at approximately €2 million. The model spawned several special editions: the Battista Anniversario (a 5-car hand-painted tribute set), the Battista Nino Farina (5 units honoring Formula 1's first world champion Giuseppe 'Nino' Farina), and the one-off Battista Targamerica open-top commission.
