History
Introduced in May 1997 as a 1998 model, the Intrigue replaced the aging Cutlass Supreme as Oldsmobile's mid-size sedan, aimed squarely at import-brand competition with standard V6 power, antilock brakes, four-wheel independent suspension, and dual airbags.
It later adopted the DOHC 3.5-liter 'Shortstar' V6. Part of the brand's failed late-1990s revival, the Intrigue was discontinued in June 2002 as the Oldsmobile phaseout progressed, sent off with a Dark Cherry Metallic 'Final 500' collectors' edition.
