Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme History

Introduced for 1966 as the plush top of the Cutlass range, the Cutlass Supreme became Oldsmobile's personal-luxury mainstay. Its 1977 redesign — a notchback formal coupe — was central to the Cutlass being America's best-selling car in that era.

The Supreme moved to GM's front-drive W-body for 1988, offered as a coupe, sedan, and (briefly) a convertible. It was retired after 1997, with the new Intrigue taking over its mid-size slot.
