History

The Exige (2000–2021) was the more extreme, hard-edged sibling of the Elise: a fixed-roof coupe with added aerodynamics and a sharper track focus, built on the same bonded-aluminium chassis.

Series 1 used the Rover K-series; Series 2 moved to Toyota fours, including supercharged models; and Series 3 (from 2012) adopted a supercharged 3.5-litre Toyota V6, making the Exige the bigger-engined member of the family. Like the Elise, it bowed out in 2021, replaced by the Emira.
