Lanchester Twenty-One History

The Twenty-One, introduced in 1923 with a 2,982 cc six-cylinder overhead-camshaft engine, gave Lanchester a more compact, more affordable car beneath the imposing Forty, aimed at the owner-driver rather than the chauffeur-served grandee.

It was succeeded in 1926 by the bored-out Twenty-Three (2,930 cc); together the two related sixes accounted for roughly 735 cars before Lanchester's independent line gave way to the BSA era and Daimler-built models.
