Lanchester Twenty History

Introduced in 1904, the Twenty was Lanchester's move beyond its pioneering twins to a 2,472 cc four-cylinder, overhead-valve engine. It carried over the marque's hallmark engineering — including epicyclic transmission and the cantilever-sprung chassis that gave Lanchesters a famously good ride.

The Twenty ran through 1911 and helped establish Lanchester among Britain's premium makers alongside Rolls-Royce and Napier, courted by a wealthy, technically minded clientele who valued the cars' refinement over conventional styling.
